en replaces de + noun

Whenever a noun is introduced by de, du, des or un / une / des, en can replace it. J'ai des frères → J'en ai. Je veux du café → J'en veux. Il parle de son travail → Il en parle.

जब संज्ञा de, du, des या un / une / des से शुरू हुई हो, तो en उसकी जगह ले सकता है। J'ai des frères → J'en ai. Je veux du café → J'en veux. Il parle de son travail → Il en parle।

y replaces à + noun

y replaces a place or a thing already mentioned that is introduced by à, au, à la, à l' or en. Je vais à Paris → J'y vais. Il habite chez sa sœur → Il y habite. Elle pense à son examen → Elle y pense.

y किसी स्थान या पहले से बताई गई वस्तु की जगह लेता है जो à, au, à la, à l' या en से शुरू हुई हो। Je vais à Paris → J'y vais. Il habite chez sa sœur → Il y habite. Elle pense à son examen → Elle y pense।

Where they go

Both sit immediately before the conjugated verb: Je veux en manger. Il y va. For a compound verb they go between the auxiliary and the participle: J'en ai acheté. Elle y est allée.

दोनों तुरंत रूप बदली क्रिया से पहले बैठते हैं: Je veux en manger. Il y va। संयुक्त क्रिया में सहायक क्रिया और पूर्व काल रूप के बीच जाते हैं: J'en ai acheté. Elle y est allée।

"Il y a" is not a pronoun

In Il y a, y belongs to the verb avoir and cannot be replaced: *Il en a is impossible. Replace the noun inside it instead: Il y a des pommes → Il en a.

Il y a में y क्रिया avoir का हिस्सा है, उसे नहीं बदला जा सकता: *Il en a असंभव है। इसके बजाय इसके भीतर की संज्ञा बदलिए: Il y a des pommes → Il en a।

Using en for a place

*Je vais en Paris is the most frequent pronoun error in French. en replaces de, not à — Paris is introduced by à, so the pronoun must be y: Je vais à Paris, J'y vais. en never points at a place.

*Je vais en Paris फ़्रेंच में सर्वनाम की सबसे आम त्रुटि है। en, de की जगह लेता है, à की नहीं — Paris से पहले à आता है, इसलिए सर्वनाम y होगा: Je vais à Paris, J'y vais। en कभी स्थान की ओर संकेत नहीं करता।

Say the original phrase, then swap

This is a substitution skill, not a knowledge skill. Read Je veux du café out loud, then say it again while physically removing "du café" and putting en in its place. Twenty repetitions and it stops needing thought.

यह प्रतिस्थापन का कौशल है, ज्ञान का नहीं। Je veux du café ज़ोर से पढ़िए, फिर "du café" हाथ से हटाकर उसकी जगह en रखकर दोबारा बोलिए। बीस बार ऐसा करते ही यह सोचने की ज़रूरत बंद हो जाएगी।
